CELESTINE "Celey" ZINCK (Sr.), s/o Joseph Zinck, Sr. (1787-1865) and (1) Thérèse Enderlin (1788-1853), was born 6 April 1821 in Sausheim, Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France.

He immigrated with his parents from France in 1844, and settled in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.

Celestine married 28 June 1847 at the Emmanuel Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio to Regina Rachel Lehman(n), dau/o Michel/Michael Lehmann & Marie Madeleine/Mary Magdelena Biam who immigrated from Schirrhein, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France (Records of Schirrhein, France/Germany).

For many years, Celestine was in the grocery business and in later year he is recorded as a boot and shoe maker, as was his father.

Regina Rachel (Lehman[n]) Zinck died on 23 May 1891 at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. Celestine Zinck survived his wife for about five more years. He died 24 April 1896 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.

The family attended Emmanuel Catholic Church in Dayton.

They were the parents of Celestine A. Zinck, Jr. b 1848; Katherine/Catherine Theodora (Zinck) Saettel b 1849; Joseph Michael Zinck b 1851; Henry Joseph Zinck (#1) b 1852; Maria Theresa Zinck b 1855; Clara Mary (Zinck) Lingle b 1855; Henry Joseph Zinck (#2) b 1860; Odelia Mary Zinck b 1862; Matilda Zinck b 1863; Joseph Martin Zinck b 1866; Maria "Mary" Theresa Zinck b 1868; Melania "Millie" (Zinck) Meyer b 1871.
