Mr. Holly Howell, 86, of Colorado City died Friday, May 12, 2000 in a local hospital. Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Oak Street Baptist Church with Dr. Bentley Gwyn and Gene Parham officiating. Burial followed in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Howell was born to T.A. and Carolyn Howell on February 2, 1914 in Brookston, Texas. He had been a resident of Colorado City since 1925. He married Inez Morgan on February 27, 1940 in Colorado City. He drove a fuel truck for Paris Yarbrough for 53 1/2 years. He was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church where he had been a deacon since 1971. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Howell of Colorado City; one daughter, Kay and husband, Joe Clark of Big Spring; two granddaughters, Gwen Kinchloe and Kim Rubio, both of Big Spring; three great-grandchildren, Jonathon Rubio, Jarred Rubio, and Jessica Rubio, all of Big Spring; three sisters, Friday Moore and Marie Fryar, both of San Angelo, and Velma Lindsey of Abilene; several nieces and nephews.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oak Street Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
