Francis H. Rains, age 77, of Leslie passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010. He was born in the Watts Community on March 27, 1933.
He was a member of the Leslie Assembly of God Church. Mr. Rains loved to grow a garden. He felt that he had to grow enough to feed all of Leslie. He was a kind and generous man who rarely had a complaint. One of his favorite pastimes was cracking walnuts for all of his children and grandchildren.
His parents, John Rains and Marie McCuin Rains and one sister Helen Rains Housley, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Wanda Campbell Rains. Two daughters; Elaine (Jr.) Starling and Grace (Danny) Smith. Five grandchildren; Nathan (Anna) Starling, Kim (Robert) Swearingen, Krista (B.J.) Kever, Yancy (Grant) Chambliss and Sydney Smith. Three great-grandchildren; Rebecca, Copper and Barren. Two sisters; Rachel Villines of Harrison, AR and Connie Griffin of Tilly, AR. Three brothers; Ben Rains of Amarillo, TX, Norman Rains of Phoenix, AZ and Raybern Rains of Marshall, AR.
Visitation for Francis H. Rains will be Monday, May 10, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Roller Coffman Funeral Home. His service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Roller Coffman Chapel with Bro. Cairl Baysinger, Bro. Donnie Chisum and Bro. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Nubbin Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are; Nathan Starling, B.J. Kever, Robert Swearingen, Mike Treat, Russell Treat and Phillip Treat.
