Mrs. Millie L. Potter Rites December 29th

Funeral services for Mrs. Millie L. Potter, 93, who died Christmas Day at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Loup City, Nebraska, after an illness of three weeks, were held Thursday, December 29, at the Arcadia Methodist Church. Interment was in the Litchfield cemetery.

Millie Levisa Potter, daughter of Lewis L. and Josephine Fuller Smith, was born in Chickasee County, Iowa, May 3, 1873, and passed away at the hospital in Loup City, Nebraska, on December 25, 1966. During her lifetime she was married to John Summers, Wynn McMichael and Frank O. Potter. All three left her a widow, the latter dying in 1952.

She was affiliated with the Arcadia Methodist Church for many years.

She first came to Nebraska to York county and also lived many years in Custer and Sherman counties. Mrs. Potter then lived on a farm near Arcadia from 1915 to 1938 then she moved into town.

She is survived by four sons, Lewis and Roy Summers of Arcadia, Glen Summers of Ogallala, and Clyde Summers of Yakima, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Parker of Lyons, Colorado, and Mrs. Leota Hunt of Arcadia; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Opal Flick and Mrs. Marjorie Elliott of Denver; a brother, Carl Smith of Denver; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Blender of Polk, Nebraska, and Mrs. Cora Albers of Hastings; 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Potter was preceded in death by a son, Orla Summers; a daughter, Miss Ruby Summers; three brothers, and two sisters.
