Pheba Ponder, 83, of Mendenhall, died Jan. 28, 1992, of heart failure, at Hillcrest Health Center, Magee.

Services were Jan. 29, 1992, 3:30 p.m., at Mims.Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Magee, with burial in Magee City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ponder was a native of Simpson County.

Survivors include three sons, Ray Ponder of Mendenhall, Billy Ponder of Brandon, Paul Ponder of Clinton; five daughters, Willie Mae Denton of Jackson, Bobbie Tuggle and Catherine Miley, both of Pearl, Lerah Busby of Mendenhall, Carolyn Neill of Utica; half-brother, L. P. Bishop, Jr., of Magee; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mayfield of Magee, Mrs. Eva Dilmore of Mt. Olive; one half-sister, Lula Mae Bush of Brandon; 16 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren.

Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee handled the arrangements.
