Kermit David Spence, 87, of Blacksburg died Friday, April 23, 2004 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Virginia on April 9, 1917, to the late King David and Golden Estella Nutter Spence. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Kermit Spence. He is survived by his wife, Fannie Absher Spence of Blacksburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Marvin Bland of Blacksburg, and Dreama and Stuart Pratt of Rural Retreat; one daughter-in-law, Barbara King Spence of Christiansburg; one sister, Irene Eakin of Catawba; one brother, Paul Spence of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 26, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rador Vaden officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 11 am in the Whitlock Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
