Lois Kathryn Fox, 96, of North Bend (formerly of Lincoln and Litchfield) died April 7, 2011 at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.
Lois Kathryn Fox was born July 12, 1914 in Loup City to Elizabeth and Adolph Newhouser. She was the 6th of 11 children. She attended high school and business school in Chicago. After graduation she returned to Nebraska and worked at the courthouse in Loup City.
She married Carl Fox in 1935. They lived in Litchfield where they owned and operated a Phillips 66 service station.
She was involved in the Methodist Church, Rebecca Lodge, Eastern Star and the Litchfield Lads and Lassies 4-H Club.
In 1964, they moved to Lincoln where she kept busy caring for young children in her home, tending her vegetable gardens and countless varieties of flowers. She also found pleasure in baking, canning, crafts and collecting angels and dolls.
She was a member of the Havelock United Methodist Church and Columbia Chapter 275 Eastern Star.
She moved to Birchwood Manor in North Bend in May 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Deane, one sister and eight brothers.
Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Carolyn Fox of Lincoln, daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Gary McCord of Boyertown, Penna. and Carlene and Richard Myers of Morse Bluff, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a sister, Jean Petzold of Calif. and many nieces and nephews.
