Former Alaska resident Margaret Moore Acree, 82, died Feb. 17, 2000, at home in Lacey, Wash., of natural causes. Inurnment was at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.

Mrs. Acree was born April 16, 1917, in Dublin, Texas, to Nancy and Lewis Moore. She was married to Thomas Acree on Jan. 21, 1946, in Austin, Texas. She served as a captain with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She had also worked as a nurse-anesthetist at Providence Hospital, U.S. Public Health Service in Anchorage and Alaska Native Hospital in Anchorage. She retired in 1979. Mrs. Acree was a lifetime member of the National Association of Nurse-Anesthetists and the China-Burma-India Veteran's Association. She enjoyed reading, golf and being a homemaker. She had lived in Lacey for more than 21 years.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Acree of Lacey; sons, Tom Acree of Olympia, Wash., and Lee Acree of Tacoma, Wash.; brother, Lewis Moore of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Mills and Mills Funeral Directors in Olympia.
