PENDLETON - Ramona Isabelle "Mona" Edwards, 70, of Pendleton died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Willowbrook Terrace in Pendleton. A celebration of life service will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cultural Hall in Pendleton.
Mrs. Edwards was born Feb. 28, 1940, in Mountain View, Wyo., to Gerald and Lucille (Hamilton) Rollins. She graduated from Irrigon High School in 1958. She and William S. Edwards were married in 1959 in Kennewick, Wash. The couple moved from Clackamas to Pendleton in 1975.
She retired in 2009 after working for 14 years at Washington Elementary School in Pendleton.
Survivors include husband William "Bill" Edwards at the home; daughters Veronica "Vickie" Leonard of Pendleton, Brenda Cable of Peoria, Ariz., and Tammie Wendell of Adams; sons Bradley Edwards of Boise, Idaho, and Lonny Edwards of Sweet Home; brothers Tony Hatch of Fort Worth, Texas, Gerald Rollins of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Ferrell Heaton of Alton, Utah; sister Helen Byrnes Egeland of Livingston, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Craig Rollins; sister Samantha Anderson; and grandson Jared Leonard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
