Betty Frankie Martin

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Frankie Martin, 87, of Pickens, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Durant. Officiating minister was Rev. Lorance Frost, assisted by Rev. Shannon Martin and Rev. Mike O’Brien. Interment was in Seneasha Cemetery in Attala County.

Mrs. Martin died of heart failure Sunday, April 10 at Methodist Hospital of Mississippi in Lexington.

A native of Attala County, she was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Lexington.

Survivors include: sons, James W. Martin and Marion William Martin of Pickens, Marcus Martin of Jackson and George Franklin Martin of Lexington; daughter, Mary Jean Odom of Canton; sister, Maggie Burrell of Goodman; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Serving as active pallbearers were David Jernop, Robbie Doman, Tommy Scarborough, Dusty Cockrell, Floyd Crapps and Paul Winstead.
