Oliver Blair was born in Pike County, Illinois and was a twin. He was the son of Thomas Blair and Margaret Job.He married Elizabeth Jane Bell on 27 July 1855 in Des Moines Co, Iowa.He died in Dickinson County, Kansas.His obituary in the Abilene Reflector, issue of April 29, 1911 read:
BLAIR: Oliver G. Mar 13, 1825-Apr. 27, 1911; d at home near Solomon, aged 86 y; was the father of Mrs. J.S. Bigler of Abilene; uncle of Robert W. Blair of Topeka and E.W. Blair, formerly of Salina but now of St. Joseph, Mo.
