Graveside service for Mildred E. Strickert Cummings, 89, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, with the Rev. John Warring officiating.
Mrs. Cummings died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
She was born May 27, 1915, at Saskatchewan, Canada, to David Grant and Ettie Amelia Bacus Marshall. She moved to Scott City in the early 1940s and had been a Garden City resident since 1972. A homemaker, she was a member of the VFW at Garden City. She married Leonard Strickert in 1945. In 1970, she married Ralph Cummings.
They all preceded her in death as did her parents; three sons, Art Goud, Richard Strickert and Robert Strickert; a daughter, Virginia Cook; a grandson, Austin Strickert; and five brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Strickert of Holcomb, and Ranee Hutchins of Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Ruth Moore of Scott City, Margie Rasmussen of Burwell, Neb., and Lucille Roby of Hastings, Adams Co., NE.b.; two brothers, George Marshall of Deer Park, Wash., and Vernon Marshall of North Platte, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
