Brackenridge
John W. Gamble Jr., 58, of Brackenridge, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, in the ER at UPMC St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Jan. 9, 1952, in Boston, Mass., son of Nancy Anne (Downs) Gamble, of Harwick, and the late John W. Gamble Sr.
He lived the past eight years in Brackenridge, prior to which he resided in New Kensington and Harwick. He was a laborer with Royston Labs, Blawnox, and Strongstown, B&K Enterprises for a number of years. He was a graduate of Springdale High School and served in the Army and Navy in Vietnam. He was Catholic by faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, golfing and all sports.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Debra L. (Sweeney) Gamble; daughters, Tiffany Jane Gamble, at home, Lorie (Timothy) Angely, of Tarentum, Lisa (Anthony) Schuffert, of West Deer Township, and Misty Gamble, of West Deer Township; son, Eric (Jade) Young, of Brackenridge; grandchildren, Brandon, Emily, Breanna, Sadie, Arielle and Ethan; sister, Carrie (Tom) Borland, of Harwick; brother, Michael (Donna) Gamble, of Springdale; sister, Jayne (Michael) Mienert, of Naples, Fla.; and brother, Robert (Jodi) Gamble, of Springdale.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Roy Schuffert Jr.; and brother, William J. Gamble. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 10 a.m. in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum. Blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home by the Rev. Albert L. Zapf, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harwick.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, with full military honors accorded by Tarentum VFW Post 5758.
