George R. Carbaugh
George R. Carbaugh of Saxton died Wednesday, January 7, 1959, at 2:40 a. m. at his late home. He had been ill for the past six years.
He was born March 20, 1889, at Shy Beaver, Huntingdon County, a son of John and Mary (Smith) Carbaugh. He was married to Matilda Josephine Metzgar on October 10, 1910. She preceded him in death on October 10, 1952.
Surviving are the following children: Homer Carbaugh, at home; Ralph Carbaugh, Saxton; Mrs. Harlow (Edna) Hackett, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Thomas (Eunice)Neffsker, Altoona; Emerson Carbaugh, St. Thomas; Mrs. Roy (Helen) Hileman, claysburg; Mrs. Ralph (Donna) Isett, Saxton, and George Carbaugh, Saxton. There are eight grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, John and Wilmer Carbaugh of Aitch, Ernest Carbaugh of Waterside and one sister, Mrs William (Margaret) Allison, Saxton. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ of Saxton. He was previously employed with the Huntingdon and Broad Top Railroad until he retired in 1952.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, at 2 p. m. from the Masood funeral chapel. The Rev. LaMar Bender, pastor of his church, will officiate.
Interment will be made in the Brumbaugh Cemetery, Fredericksburg. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 7 p. m. this evening.
