T. R. Bowden
Brigham City-Thomas Robert Bowden, 76, died at home yesterday after a five-month illness.
Except for 20 years when he lived in Lewiston, Utah, Mr. Bowden had resided here where he was born Jan. 23, 1876, to William and Ann Grinney Bowden.
Mr. Bowden was a member of the L.D.S Church and a high priest in the Brigham City Eigth ward.
He was married to Elizabeth Palmer on Aug. 27, 1896, in the Logan Temple. She died in 1911 and he was married in Sept. 1912 in the Logan temple to Margaret Lushman. Death claimed her in June 1949. Later that year he was married to Matilda Bowden.
Surviving are his widow, a sister, Mrs. Rachel Johnson, Salt Lake City, 46 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and the following sons and daughters.
Mrs. Valerie McLayne, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Sterlin Tilford and William LaVonzo Bowden, Ogden; Mrs. Jed Richardson and Mrs. Mable Hover, Brigham City, and Robert J. Bowden, Rock Springs, Wyo.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at one p.m. in the Brigham City Eigth Ward chapel with Bishop Ernest Hansen conducting. Friends may call at the Harold B. Felt funeral home tonight from seven to nine and tomorrow morning. Burial will be in Lewiston cemetery.
