Harriet Walker Gilson, born in Lynchburg, Bedford County, VA. A sister to Senator Isaac Pigeon Walker (one of WI first senators) and George Hamer Walker (founder of Walker's Point, one of the city's founders) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the eldest child and daughter of George R. and Rebecca (Hamer) Walker. Harriet was the mother of eight children, one of whom was Samuel Gilson, prominent citizen of Salt Lake, Idaho. In Edwards County, IL on July 10, 1823 she married James (Gilston) Gilson, a veteran of the War of 1812. About 1889 she moved from Utah and became a citizen of Seattle, King County, WA. where she resided with her son, John W. Gilson at 1206 Lakeview.
