Betty Finch
Gaffney, SC - - Betty Ruth Phillips Finch, 78, formerly of Hardin Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Magnolia Place. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Jerry Finch and the daughter of the late Curtis Phillips, Hester Wyatt Beattie and Paul Beattie. She was a retired waitress and homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Surviving are four sisters, Juanita Spencer and husband, Perry of Gaffney, Shirley Hester of Lincolnton, NC, Brenda Beattie of Gaffney and Sadie Allen and husband, George of Gaffney; an aunt, Lillian Peeler of Gaffney; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Wayne Beattie and a sister, Willow Jean Henderson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Osment officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Brenda Beattie, 412 Hardin Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340
