Mr. Coppernoll was born March 7, 1918, in Sylvan, Wis. He served in the U.S. Army. He married MaryLou Dove in 1940. He was a mechanic and foreman for Multnomah County and retired in 1980.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Sharon Young of Issaquah, Wash, and Rita of Vancouver, Wash; sons, R. Paul of Portland, Tim of Banks and Jim of St. Helens; sister, Louise Fetters of Barnum, Minn.; brother, Oliver of Vancouver; and six grandchildren.
Burial will be private in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to St. Vincent Medical Foundation heart program or the church. Arrangements are by Zeller Chapel of the Roses.
