Willa Canby Morgan, 97, of Gaithersburg, Md. (formerly of Martinsburg), died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Asbury Methodist Village.

Born April 13, 1911, in Hedgesville, she was the daughter of the late C. M. "Collie" Canby and Iva Shriver Canby.

She attended schools in Berkeley County. She was a 1931 graduate from King's Daughters Hospital nursing classes for Registered Nurses. She was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church, for which she held many offices; a member of Golden Rule Chapter #69, Order of Eastern Star; and she served on numerous volunteer committees in the community.

She is survived by her nephew, great-nephews, and great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Charles E.Morgan, Amon O. Harper and Hayden J. Nelson and a brother, Clayton Canby.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Friday, July 18, 2008. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

The family suggests expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to Calvary United Methodist Church, 220 W. Burke Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
