Allen C Leverenz, 93, formerly of W 420 Danes Road, New Holstein, died Wednesday evening, September 12, 2007 at Calumet Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein.
He was born September 7, 1914 in the Town of Charlestown, son of the late Orin and Katie Persohn Leverenz. Allen attended Lowell Country School and was a graduate of New Holstein High School. On October 6, 1938 he married Lydia Tamm at Bethel United Methodist Church. Allen farmed in the Town of Charlestown retiring on December 7, 1979. After retirement he continued to remain active farming. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a member of the County Board for 25 years, Town Board of Charlestown for many years and the New Holstein Masonic Lodge. Allen was a member of the Order Eastern Star where he was the Worthy Patron for 35 years. He enjoyed playing dartball, for many years he was a member of the Calumet County Farm Bureau and the New Holstein Men's Chorus.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lydia of New Holstein, two children; Fredrick (Edith) Leverenz, rural New Holstein; Barbara (Gerald) Schulz, Plymouth; eight grandchildren. He is further survived by 17 great-grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews, other relatives and many friends.
