Longtime Anchorage resident Michael Farrell, 48, died Feb. 7, 2007, at Providence Extended Care in Anchorage after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service was at Our Lady of Compassion Chapel at Providence Extended Care. Chaplain Dona Boschee officiated.

Michael was born April 6, 1958, to Lillian and Edward Farrell in Brooklyn, N.Y. He moved to Anchorage in 1975 when he was 17 years old. His family wrote: "Michael will be greatly missed by his many friends whom he considered his brothers and sisters. He will be remembered by all as someone who enjoyed life, showed love and shared what he had."

He is survived by his sister, Elsie Frasier; aunts, Geraldine Mock, Betty Bazukiewicz, Evelyn Phierfry, Helen Alin, Elsie Regan and Helen Deluca; and nephew, nieces and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and Edward Farrell, and brother, Edward Farrell. Donations may be sent to Providence Hospice of Anchorage, 3435 E.
