Loretta F. Lunsford, 58, of Athens, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Life Care Center of Athens.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Betty J. McKheean Peel, and was preceded in death by her grandparents; and one daughter, Kathy Ann Carter Burman, on April 12, 2010.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Dianne Carter of Athens; grandchildren and their spouses, Dewayne and Ashley Walker of Athens, Bradley and Heather Walker of Cleveland, Johnathan and Jessica Burman of Ocala, Fla., and Brian and Mitchell Carter and Haley Carter, all of Athens; one great-grandson, Donnie Dewayne Walker; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Harlos Stokes of Englewood; one brother, Glen Peel of Athens; several nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Brenda Duggan.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cochran Cemetery with the Rev. James Frye officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Walker, Bradley Walker, Harlos Stokes, Josh Moses, Brandon Tutes and Chris Freeman.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
