Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns Dykeman Chapel for Carl E. Coonrod, 77 of 400 Hartman Ave., who was found a suicide Saturday evening at his home. The Reverend Charles F. Jacobs, pastor of the First Congregational Church will officiate and burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

He was born near Mason City on May 7, 1895, the son of Jess and Jesse Coonrod.
He married Margaret B. Cowell on October 13, 1923 near Mason City.

Mr. Coonrod was engaged in farming in the Rock Falls area for a number of years before coming to Waterloo in 1952. From 1954 until his retirement in 1960 he was employed as a cement finisher for Ziedler Concrete Products Co.
He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers local 1091.

Survivors include his wife; one brother George of Manly; six** sisters: Mrs. Blanche Wyborney of Mason City, Mrs. Jeanette Ellis of Grinnell, Mrs. Bertha Hansen of Rock Falls, Mrs. Pearl Keeny of Mason City, Mrs. Ruth Jones of Hampton, and Mrs. May Riendel of Manly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son during World War II and two sisters.
