Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Isbell Wade were held Monday afternoon at the Chapel of the Whitson Funeral Home with the Rev. Thornton Fowler, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating, assisted by L. N. Moody, miniter of the Broad Street Church of Christ. Burial was in the Cookeville cemetery.
Mrs. Wade, who had been ill for many weeks, died Sunday afternoon in a Nashville hospital.
A daughter of the late Amanda Starnes and William J. Isbell, Mrs. Wade was a native of Putnam County having lived her entire life in Cookeville. The past few years she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. John H. Whitson, and Mr. Whitson on Dixie Avenue.
Mrs. Wade's family was prominently identified with civic and religious activites of the town and from childhood she was a devoted member of the Methodist church. Her quiet and unassuming manner has won for her the love and respect of a wide circle of friends.
In addition to her sister, Mrs. Whitson, she is survived by her husband, W. C. Wade, Cookeville; two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Lee, Nashville, and Mrs. Simon M. Ensor, Springfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. The death of another sister, Mrs. J. W. H. Terry occurred June 15.
