Aliene "Lena" Sylvia Alexander, 93, a resident of Gill Day Personal Care Home, Chambersburg, and formerly of 1986 Buchanan Trail East, Shady Grove, and the Blue Ridge Summit area, died Thursday, June 20,
1996, in Chambersburg Hospital
Born May 30, 1903, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Parker and Elizabeth
(Wireman) Fleagle. She had lived in Shady Grove for 13 years and in the Blue Ridge Summit area for
more than 70 years. On June 7, 1920. she married Luther P. Alexander, who died on Jan. 21. 1978.
The couple were charter members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Waynesboro.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Stitley of Barclay, Md . and Pearl Zent of Canyonville, Ore.; a son, Gordon L. Alexander of Shady Grove; two sisters. Rose Lynn of Thurmont and Ethel Jackson of Westminster, Md., 14 grandchildren , 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Rhoten Alexander; five brothers,
George, Gilbert, Rolland, David and Franklin Fleagle; and three sisters, Beatrice and Margaret
Fleagle and Grace Gearhart.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Snyder-Lochstampfor Funeral Home Inc., Waynesboro,
with Rev. David Woodworth officiating.
Burial will be in theGreen Hill Cemetery.
