Funeral services for Joy Goodwin, age 68 of Seminole, Texas will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Westside Church of Christ with Raymond Glendenning officiating. Burial will follow in Gaines County Cemetery (south). All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Goodwin passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Home Hospice in Odessa, Texas following a lengthy illness. She was born October 9, 1941 in Haskell, Texas to Marie (McGregor) and Rufus Andrews. She married Troy Richard Goodwin March 27, 1959 in Goldsmith, Texas.
Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Westside Church of Christ. She was a devout Christian woman who loved her church. Her family and church were her life. She enjoyed her Lipton iced tea with Allsup's ice, and she loved fishing, soap operas, and game shows. She was known for pulling practical jokes.
Joy Goodwin is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Sonny Andrews; one sister, Darla Leatherwood; and one grandson, Toby Berry.
She is survived by 4 Daughters. Terri Berry and husband Gene of Seminole, Texas, Jan Spears and husband Tommy of Seminole, Texas, Wanda Reed and husband Luke of Seminole, Texas, Darcy Ward and fiance Scott Blocker of Ft. Worth, Texas; 1 Sister, Nancy Davis of Andrews, Texas; 10 Grandchildren; and 4 Great Grandchildren.
