Mrs Hattie Follmer
Life-Long Resident of Harrison Township Died Yesterday
Hattie Hoover Follmer, aged 80 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Jacob Essig, six miles west of Goshen, of complications after an illness of six months. She came to Harrison township when she was six weeks old and had lived there ever since.
Her father the late David Y Miller, was one of the first settlers of this county and built a log cabin in what is now Harrison township.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs Sarah Netzley of Saskatchewan, Can, Mrs Eva Greenawalt of this city, Mrs Letia Fields of Elkhart and Mrs Jacob Essig of Harrison township, three sons, John W and David of Goshen and Alexander of Baintertown; three brothers, William Miller of Nappanee Adam Miller of Goshen and Christian Miller of Rossville; four sisters, Margaret Davenport and Mrs Henry Roose of Elkhart Eva Eversole of Wakarusa and Mrs Eliza Ganger of Goshen; 28 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
All of the sisters are over 72 years of age.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at the house at 9:30 and at the Yellow Creek Church at 10 o’clock. Burial will be made in Union cemetery north of Nappanee.
