Visitation is Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Becker, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 1, 1914, to the late Ferdinand Victor and Bettie Drane Becker.
He was a retired businessman and the former owner of Benoits from 1946-1985. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Mr. Becker was the past president of the Kiwanis Club, the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Retired Merchants of Mississippi and Jackson Jr. Chamber of Commerce. He was the former chairman of the Democrat Nomination Committee and Lincoln County Industrial Development Foundation, past commissioner of the Brookhaven Housing Authority, past king of the Harvest Ball and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Camella Society. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors are his wife, Louise Moore Becker of Brookhaven; son, Henry Alan Becker of Slidell, La.; daughter, Alison Becker Greene of Wilmington, N.C.; sister, Bettie Becker Steffan of St. Louis, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
