Indianapolis: May 19: A World War veteran and his 15 year old son were dead today, his wife was critically wounded and a boarder suffered from gunshot wounds in a domestic triangle tragedy.
The veteran, Charles E. Scroggs, 40, entered his home at the dinner hour yesterday and, brandishing an automatic pistol, shot his wife Bertha, 35, in the side. The son, Marion, tried to disarm his father and was killed. Brady Norton, the boarder of whom Scroggs was said to be insanely jealous, was shot through the leg.
Scroggs fled from the house and was chased by Gilbert Jones, Negro patrolman. They fought a gun duel and Scroggs fell dead behind a tree, shot through the head. Police said powder burns indicated Scroggs had killed himself.
