He was the son of the late James F. Medler and Catherine Taylor Medler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tobey and Johnnie Medler and three sisters, Gloria Sims, Patsy Knipple and Brenda Miller.
He is survived by one son, Justin Michael Medler and a daughter, Farrah Medler; five grandchildren; his former wife and friend, Tami Medler; six sisters, Cindy Dorsey, Linda Custer, Judy Barrett, Bonnie Welty, Kathy McCormick and Tina Edwards, and close friend, Bobbie Joe Wilt, all of Martinsburg.
