Janet M. Davis, 76, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, May 8, 2010 in Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, where she had been a patient since Wednesday. She was born June 13, 1933 in Fayette County, Indiana, one of nine children of John W. and Leona Shepard Turner and was raised by Lawrence and Mary Alfred. A lifelong resident of Connersville, she graduated from Connersville High School, Class of 1951. On July 3, 1952 she was married to Noel B. "Squirmy" Davis. Janet was a devoted wife and caring mother, and together with her husband, they raised two sons: James and Mark; and twin daughters, Melody and Ramona. During her leisure, Janet loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Noel B. "Squirmy" Davis of Connersville; two sons: James Davis and wife, Mary of Connersville, Mark Davis of Greenfield; two daughters: Melody Hamilton and husband, Mike and Ramona Newton, all of Connersville; six grandchildren: Rachel Williams and husband, Bryan, Kimberly Roberts and husband, Tom, Michelle Reece, Derek Davis, Lindsey Porter and husband, Daniel and Kory Amyx; 11 great grandchildren; a step-great grandchild, two sisters: Joan Wise and husband, Alvin of Lexington, Indiana and Sabra Louden of Connersville; a brother: George Bergen of Summerville, South Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Nora Jean Gaddis and Mary Runyon; three brothers: John W. Turner, Andrew Bergen and Ronald Bergen. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Reverend Dean VanWinkle, Pastor of both the Columbia & Orange United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 PM until the time of the service.
