Elmer MacFadyen (January 9, 1943 – August 17, 2007) was a Canadian politician. He represented Sherwood-Hillsborough in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1996 to 2007 as a Progressive Conservative member. He was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the son of Donald MacFadyen. He married Judy McAlduff in 1968. MacFadyen was named government house leader in 1997 and was named Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs in 2002. He was defeated in the 2007 general election held in May 2007. He suffered a heart attack at his home in Charlottetown in August of that year and died in hospital.

Archie (Dianne), Stu (Cindy). Rememberd by his sisters-in-law, Kay,
Barb and Eleanor. Predeceased by his daughter, Norma Lynne, by his
parents, Donald and Annie (MacNeill) MacFadyen, by his brother,
Melbourne, and by his nephew, Donald. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home
for visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Wednesday from Zion
Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Roman Catholic
Cemetery, Charlottetown. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to KIDSPORT.
