1890 - US Census - Lost in Census fire

The children of Thomas Eppes only received five dollars each for their part of their father's rather extensive holdings. Many pages through a long period of time are found on record at Johnson City, Texas, in the settlement after the death of Lydia Eppes. However this settlement was not contested by any of the Eppes people. The Governor of the state of Texas granted Mrs. Lydia Eppes 160 acres of land, known as Survey no. 110 on Hickory Creek, 7 May 1872. See the B. Williams League of land bought by Thomas A Eppes 22 July 1871, from J. T. Newman, a part of the league.
