Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Knightdale Methodist Church. The Rev. M. W. Warren, her pastor, and the Rev. R. L. Costner of Knightdale Baptist Church will officiate. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pall bearers will be John Bullock, Thorpe Blackard, B. L. Hodge, M. W. Bennett, Jr., Edwin Griffin and Woodrow Smith.
Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late W. C. and Aretta Cozart Peed of Granville County.
She was a charter member of the Knightdale Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. E. C. Carr of Farmville, Mrs. Dwight Avery of Raleigh, Mrs. Cary Upchurch of Raleigh, Route 5, Mrs. Willie Hipps of Canton; two sons, L. W. Allen and W. E. Allen of Raleigh, Route 5, a sister, Mrs. E. J Lunsford of Stem; and nine grandchildren.
