TERRE HAUTE — Memorial services for Ian Andrew White, 20, of Terre Haute, will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at the United Methodist Temple, 5301 South U.S. 41, Terre Haute, with Bishop Mike Coyner preaching and at 3 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1751 27th St., Columbus, with the Rev. Dr. Al Styron officiating with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. He died May 6, 2010, in Rushville.
He was born Feb. 24, 1990, in Indianapolis to the Rev. and Mrs. Brian White, superintendent of the Southeast District of the Indiana Conference of Columbus.
He was a student at Indiana State University in Terre Haute and a student and athlete from Bloomington. He graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School in 2008, where he also was a member of the freshman basketball team and was a four-year varsity member of the golf team, participating in the 2008 state finals. He was enrolled at ISU majoring in computer information and was a member of Asbury UMC in Columbus. He was a good and caring friend and gifted athlete and he will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Survivors include his father, the Rev. Brian White; mother, Michelle (Lower) White; sister, Audra White, a graduating student of Ball State University in Muncie; and paternal grandparents, Miriam and Russell White of Jeffersonville. He also is survived by aunts and uncles Eugene and Eva McCain, of Shelbyville, Jerry and Nancy White, Diana and Kenny Hayden, and Donna and Vern Eswine, all of Jeffersonville area, Teleia Lower, of Bloomington, Lynette Rene and Sonny Frazier, of Rushville, and Douglas Lower of San Francisco and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Ross White and grandmother Doris Merrilyn McCain Lower.
Visitation will be at the DeBaun Funeral Homes, DeBaun-Springhill Chapel, Terre Haute, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
