BILOXI --- William Henry Cooper Jr., 70, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in Biloxi.

Mr. Cooper was born in Itta Bena and had been a resident of the Coast since 1952. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cooper was retired from offshore exploration and he also worked for the Daily Herald. He was a member of P.E.R. of the Biloxi Elks No. 606 and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Cooper was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Gilly Cooper of N. Biloxi; two sons, Tim Cooper of Baton Rouge, La., and Billy Cooper of Metarie, La; one sister, Betty Oldigs of Waco, Texas; one brother, James Cooper of Waco, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi with a 7 p.m. Rosary. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for a 1 p.m. service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville. Burial will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
