She was born on January 10, 1961, in Syracuse. She was raised and educated in Herkimer. She had resided in California for twenty-seven years before moving back to the area in 2008. For the past year, she has worked as a Personal Care Giver for Otsego County Resource Center for Independent Living. Kelly enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, however her happiest times were those shared with family and friends.
Surviving besides her husband, Robert, are her daughter, Jennifer Nageer and her husband, Avam, and one granddaughter, Samirha Nageer, all of Lake Elsinore, CA; two brothers, Steve Bernier and Kathy, of Ilion, and Jeffrey and Shannon Bernier, of Richfield Springs; three sisters, Sandra Salzar, of Ilion, her twin, Karen Frederick and her husband, Robert, of Richfield Springs, and Colleen Bible, of Herkimer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special aunt, Bea Shane, of Liverpool. She is also survived by her step-father, William Henry and his wife, Mary, of Canyon Lake, CA. She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Eileen Hutton Bernier.
The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James Street, on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. for a time of remembrance and reflection.
