Olive V. Davis, age 90, of Holland, Ohio, formerly of Luna Pier, passed away, Monday, June 19, 2006, at Flower Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1916, to Wallace and Eva (Cousino)Duvall in Erie, Michigan. Olive attended St. Joseph's High School before it closed in 1932. Not being able to afford school in Toledo or Monroe, she went to work as a waitress. She met and married her husband Carl A. Davis, November 7, 1936, in St. Patrick's Parsonage and they moved to Toledo where they raised their children. Many years later Olive realized that she could go back to school and received her high school diploma after attending Adult Education classes. It took Olive three years to finish her senior year, but she was very proud of the hard work she dedicated to it. In addition to her parents, Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Davis and her four sisters, Eleanor Cousino, Violet Anderson and infants, Odella and Velda Duvall. Olive is survived by her loving sons, Robert J. (Judith), Carl D. inBudin (Toni), Michael G. (Dee) and Patrick A. (Colleen) Davis; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way. The family will receive guests Thursday, from 2-8 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, MI. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
