Lola (ROBERTS) JACKSON was born September 17, 1867, near Owensburg, Indiana and departed this life, February 8, 1925, aged fifty-seven years, four months and twenty-one days.
On going to bed Sunday night she was in very good health. But on getting up Monday morning we found she had died in the night, and it was a great shock to the family.
She was the daughter of Thomas and Hannah ROBERTS, and was one of a family of eleven children.
She was united in marriage to Andrew JACKSON, of Owensburg, October 18, 1890 and to them were born eight children. One died in infancy. Seven children, with the husband, survive. The children are: Mrs. Elsie PORTER, Bedford; Mrs. Mary PARSLEY and Ralph JACKSON, Owensburg, and Guy, Jessie, William, and Robert, at home. Besides the family, she is also survived by four sisters and five brothers, Matt, Dan, William and Henry ROBERTS, near Owensburg, and Sam ROBERTS, Fayetteville, and Mrs. Ellen LANE, Heltonville; Mrs. Julia BORUFF, Mrs. Mary BABB and Mrs. Nancy BABB, of Owensburg. One brother Thomas ROBERTS preceded her in death. She also leaves nine grandchildren.
She united with the Baptist Church at Owensburg in early life, and remained a faithful member.
She was a kind and virtuous woman; of a quiet and unassuming disposition; a devoted wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by her family, relatives and many friends.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Kentucky Ridge. The funeral rites were conducted by Rev. Warren SANDERS, of Mitchell.
