"Good night, sweet prince, and fights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

Randolph (Randy) Tallman, born December 2, 1939, died November 20, 2007. Aside from being a talented actor, director, teacher, composer, and musician, Randy was a wonderfully caring, giving, and loving husband, father, and friend. Graveside Services will be 11am Saturday November 24th in the Davidson Cemetery near Strawn, Texas. Known for his sensitive portrayals on Dallas stages for more than three decades, Randy will be remembered as a stalwart in the theater community. A former singer with the New Christy Minstrels, he was a member of the Dallas Theater Center's resident company under the direction of Paul Baker during the 1960's and 70's, and later worked as a freelance actor, writer, and director. He enjoyed teaching at KD Studio for many years, forming lasting relationships with his students. His love of Shakespeare was evident in his musical version of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, co-written with Steven Mackenroth, which premiered at the Dallas Theater Center during the 1973-74 season and was given an updated production at Shakespeare Dallas during its 2006 summer season, where it broke all attendance records. Dallas area artists often gathered at his home for evenings of song and fellowship over the years, reveling in the glow of his talent and friendship. His passing will leave deep holes in the hearts of his many friends throughout the Metroplex, and indeed, throughout the country. Randy was preceded in death by his parents George and Elaine Tallman of Shreveport, Louisiana and is survived by his loving wife Laura, and sons Ret and Joe. We will not see his like again.
