"Homer E. McClelland 64, a fireman at the city power plant for 14 years, died Saturday afternoon at his home at 503 N. Shields St. of a heart attack. City firemen using their resuscitator, attempted to revive him.
Mr. McClelland was born here October 20, 1891, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace McClelland. He was a grandson of J.S. McClelland, pioneer founder of the Fort Collins Express.
He lived here all his life except for a period between 1915 and 1923. He served with the Army Engineer Corps in France during World War I., taking part in the Battle of the Argonne, and later lived in California.
Mr. McClelland and the former Miss Ellen Dixon were married in Fort Collins, July 3, 1930. Mrs. McClelland works at the Poudre Valley National Bank. Mr. McClelland was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Other survivors are two daughters, two sisters, Mrs. James Pirie of Pennant, Sask. Canada and Mrs. Jack Mattson of Hawthorne, California.
Funeral arrangements are being made at the Rice Warren Funeral Home."
