Singer known by the pseudonym Alexandra. She was born in a little town named Heydekrug in Lithuania. In 1944 the family fled from their homeland to seek refuge in Kiel, Germany. Alexandra harbored talents for the Fine Arts, Acting, Dance, Foreign languages and played several instruments. In December 1962 she married Nikolaj Nefedov in Hamburg with whom she wanted to emigrate to the US. In June 1963 she gave birth to her son Alexander (Sasha). Her marriage broke up in the following year and Nikolaj went alone to the US. In 1967 she was discovered by the music producer Fred Weyrich. She had her first hit with the song "Zigeunerjunge." Her other hits were "Mein Freund der Baum" and "Sehnsucht." She sang her songs in french, english, spanish, russian and hebrew. She toured France and the whole Soviet Union. She sang with Adamo, Gilbert B?caud and Yves Montand. In 1969 she moved to Munich. On her way to a vacation in Westerland on Sylt her white Mercedes collided with a truck. She and her mother died while her son survived. It was suspected that the crash might be a suicide because she had payed her son's school for one year in advance and had signed a life insurance in the week before her death. The suicide theory was never proven and the fact that her son sat in the same car spoke against it. In 2004 the case was opened again after a reporter discovered that Alexandra's lover at the time, Pierre Lafaire, was a US spy. Other people doubted the official accident version after seeing the autopsy report and the pictures from the crash.
