Funeral services for Mrs. Ovia Bennett Johnson, 78, were held at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Gum Springs Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Lemley, the Rev. Howard McGehee and the Rev. J. W. Atchley. Burial was in the Gum Springs Church Cemetery, with Higgins Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Johnson, who lived in the Flintville community, died Saturday afternoon in the Lincoln County Hospital. Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Virginia Hall Bennett. She was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Bessie Simmons of Huntland, Mrs. Macie Womack of Elora, Mrs. Betty Cagle of Flintville, Mrs. Gracie Warren of Crown Point, Ind., Mrs. Marsha Keller of Dyer, Ind., Mrs. Mary Presnall of Hammond, Ind.; three sons, Hugh Lee Johnson of Elkhart, Ind.; Louis Johnson and Fred Johnson of Gary, Ind.; 36 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
