Funeral services for Lillie Mae Masterson Carpenter, 84, were held today at 11 a.m. at the Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. A. C. Gardner officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Carpenter passed away on Aug. 3, 1988, at her residence. She was born Sept. 15, 1903 in Kennett to the late Elenzo and Alice Williams Masterson. She married Finis Garrett Carpenter in Flint, Michigan on Sept. 19, 1960. She was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Flint and was a retired employee of General Motors.

Surviving relatives include one niece, Alice Green of Rhode Island; three nephews, Raymond Masterson of Rhode Island, Bill Masterson of Georgia and Fred Masterson of Virginia; and one cousin, Amanda Bragg of Kennett.

Pallbearers were Boyd Hamilton, Allan Mathes , Mitchell Shands, George Shearer, John Smith, and Robert Tanner.
