Born in South Dakota. Mark was one of 13 kids born to Claude and Martha Devitt Cooper. Between 1925 and 1928, the Claude Cooper family moved from South Dakota to Mille Lacs Co., MN. In 1941 Mark Cooper marries Joan Olson in Ellsworth, WI, just as he entered the military as WWII began. Mark is initially sent to Camp Roberts in CA, then shipped out to Australia and New Guinea. He comes back and finishes his time in the Army in Texas. Mark Cooper returns to Minnesota and has a family of three daughters. He works most of his life in the optical field. Mark Cooper lives until 1988, dying at age 68.
