In 1905, Otto left Grenna, Denmark and went to Copenhagen where he boarded a ship and sailed to England. He crossed England by train and boarded another ship and sailed to New York City. There he boarded another ship which landed at Galvaston, Texas. He was met there by a Methodist minister, a friend of his uncle, who put him on a train for Taylor, Texas. His uncle, John Busch, met him at Taylor and took him to Hutto, where his uncle was the operator of a hardware store. Otto Busch could not speak English, he spoke Danish.
Villerso, Denmark Is a small hamlet about five kilometers northwest of Grenna, Denmark. Grenna is a port town and fishing is one of the main trades in that town. The surrounding area is a farming area with a lot of family farms. Most of the farms are about a 'hectere' in size, about fifty-five acres. The people seem to make a good living on this but it is a lot of hard work.
Otto H. Busch and Olena Julia Olsen were married in Hutto, Texas by Pastor O. H. Sylvan on Janurary 3, 1907 in a Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. John Bush, a uncle of Otto Busch and Mr. and Mrs. John Snygg were witnesses.
Otto and Olena moved to the Bainville community in 1922 or 1923. They owned a farm about a half mile east of the Bainville community. The Medio Creek formed on this farm. They lived there until 1946 when they moved into Karnes City where they lived until their death.
