Ann was born in Brevard, NC. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Gencie Hall Johnson. Ann was retired from Sperry & Hutchingson after serving as manager of local stores for many years. Ann's life was her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a past member and teacher of both Washington Avenue Baptist Church and Tremont Avenue Church of God. Ann was a blessing to all who knew her.
Surviving are her sisters Mary Lynch and Gladys Tate. Ann was predeceased by her husband Smythe Helms, daughter Barbara "Bobbie Jo" Wilson and a sister Bessie Lusk.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home and conducted by the Rev. Deborah Broadwell on Friday April 30 at 11:00AM with visitation prior from 10am-11am. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
