Ralph Harris Jr., 83, of West Salem, passed away at 12:54 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Burgin Manor in Olney.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

Mr. Harris was born December 15, 1926, in Bennington, the son of Ralph Sr. and Ada (Bradley) Harris. He married Roberta Farmer, from Wayne County, on November 12, 1949. She survives.

He worked at Roadmaster in Olney for many years. He was a member of Free Methodist Church of West Salem. He loved God and did his best to serve Him. He also loved sports, especially baseball. Since he grew up in Bennington, close to the Little Wabash River, he learned to fish and hunt, and this remained his favorite place to go. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Roberta, of West Salem; two sons, Kenneth Harris, of Evansville, Ind., and Ron (Kim) Harris, of Chandler, N.C.; one daughter, Colleen (Tim) Gines, of Browns; sister, Wanda Miller, of Olney; four brothers, Clifton Harris, of Monahans, Texas, Bob, Lionel and Joy, all of the West Salem area; seven grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sr. and Ada Harris; daughter, Brenda Baker; and four brothers, Gene, Ivan, Gerald and Larry.

Memorials may be made to Edwards County Senior Citizens.
