Thomas Kendrick and Solomon Kendrick were brothers. Their parents were Edward Kendrick and Elizabeth Snow.

They both had sons named John, both were born around 1740 in Harwich. Solomon's son is the one who died in 1794 - he was the one I keep finding. Thomas' son died in 1823.

Solomon's son was married to Huldah Pease. Thomas' son was married to Mary Bassett.

Capt. John Kendrick was born circa 1740 at Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Solomon Kendrick and Elizabeth Atkins. Capt. John Kendrick married Huldah Pease on 26 December 1767 at Edgartown, Dukes County, Massachusetts.

The waters of the Pacific Northwest are explored by Captain Robert Gray and Captain John Kendrick

On September 28, 1788, the American Captain John Kendrick, commanding the ship Columbia arrived at Nootka Sound, a bay on the west coast of Vancouver Island. There they spent the winter, spring and early summer of 1789. The Americans sailed the waters around Vancouver Island, trading for furs with the Indians. In one trade alone, they bartered an old iron chisel for a pile of sea-otter furs worth $8,000 (in 1789 dollars). In June, Captain Gray sailed the Columbia to China where he sold the furs and purchased tea. At Boston, he sold the tea for an immense profit. On this voyage, Gray became the first American to sail around the world.
Capt. John Kendrick died circa 1800 at Hawaii. KENDRICK, John, navigator, born in Boston about 1745; died in Hawaii in 1800. He resided in Wareham, Massachusetts, commanded a privateer during the Revolutionary war, and was one of the first American seamen to undertake useful voyages of discovery. In 1787, while commanding the " Columbia" and the sloop "Washington," fitted out by Boston merchants, he explored the northwest coast of America and the islands of the Pacific. He exchanged ships with Captain Gray, his second in command, and the latter, in a subsequent voyage, discovered the Columbia river. In 1791 Captain Kendrick, in company with Captain Douglas, in the brigs "Washington" and " Grace," made a voyage to the South seas. He visited Oceania and originated and carried on a successful trade in sandalwood with China. His death was caused by the accidental firing of a charge of grape-shot from a cannon by an English captain in returning his salute in Sandwich island waters.
