MRS. SARAH ANN BELL PASSED AWAY AT DECATUR
Widow of V. D. Bell Died of Infirmities at Midnight Wednesday
Mrs. Sarah Ann Alexander Bell, age seventy-nine, died at Decatur at midnight Wednesday, death being due to infirmities attending her advanced age. She was formerly a resident of Wells County for a period of eleven years and was the widow of Vincent D. Bell.
Born in Cumberland County, Pa., March 26, 1842, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Alexander, and at the time of death had reached the age of 79 years, 9 months and 2 days. Her marriage to Mr. Bell took place at Xenia, Ohio, October 17, 1861.
Children surviving are: Charles Bell and Hilliard Bell, Craigville; Mrs. Osie Zerkle, William Bell, Mrs. Grace Everett, Vincent Bell, Jr., and Mrs. Viola Mills, Decatur; Mrs. Mary Parrish, Bluffton; Godfrey Bell, Yakima, Washington. One daughter, Mrs. Tinney Steel, is deceased and another daughter died in infancy.
Two brothers surviving are Samuel Alexander, of Missouri, and William Alexander, of New York. Mrs. Jane Johnson and Mrs. Maggie Kenig are deceased sisters.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the Christian Union church of Craigville.
Mrs. Bell and her husband previous to moving to Craigville in their declining years, resided for many years on a farm in Adams County, and they were well known throughout both Wells and Adams County, and were always held in highest esteem. There is a wide circle of relatives in both counties.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Christian Union church in Craigville with burial at Elm Grove. Rev. Payne will be in charge.
